Izzy and her mom move to a new town, but they soon discover it’s not as normal as it appears. A series of hauntings has been plaguing the local high school, and Izzy is determined to prove her worth and investigate. But assuming the guise of an average teenager is easier said than done. For a tough girl who’s always been on her own, it’s strange to suddenly make friends and maybe even have a crush.

Can Izzy trust her new friends to help find the secret behind the hauntings before more people get hurt?

Rachel Hawkins’ delightful spin-off brings the same wit and charm as theNew York Times best-selling Hex Hall series. Get ready for more magic, mystery and romance!

My Thoughts: I was nervous to read this book Why? well Hex Hall is one of my fave series. Also one of the first book series I blogged about so School Spirits was a book I had wanted to read for a while now. So now that I have read it I’m in awe it was awesome.  I’m seriously hoping for a sequel. Izzy id as awesome as Sophie. She is brave and has a big heart. Rachel Hawkins has once again awed me with her awesome writing skills. I love hearing Izzy’s confusion over such simple high school things but she really awed me though she is brave through and through. So I found myself just like with the Hex Hall series not wanting to put it down.

The love interest Dex is well he is perfect. He isn’t to crazy or overwhelming. He’s a boy who likes a girl and vice versa. I love that they have a connection that had been so magical that Izzy thought he was a prodigiam. That is definitely a way to say their connection was magical. The first kiss was amazing I loved Izzy’s reaction to it. This whole book awed me with its typical high school tid bits mixed with the whole paranormal world. Izzy is a girl who knows what her job is but also knows what it is to be human and have a heart. She is definitely brave and did the right thing when it needed to be. I think I love her just as much if not more than Sophie.

The Setting was nice it made me curious to see a small town in Mississippi(Mental Note Visit Bestie) This was a fun thing because it’s just how I would picture a small town would look.

So this book is definitely a good read. Izzy just like Sophie has casted her spell on me.

” I Stared at him. ‘ Torin, is … is this your idea of a pep talk?’

His brow wrinkled. ‘a what I am simply trying to make you feel more confident about your say by giving you confident about your day by giving you a small speech on you many Virtues’ “

” ‘ Lovely,’ I muttered, walking father back into the cave. As I did, I had to crouch slightly. Dex had to practically fold in half

‘Who ever used to hang out here, they must have been pretty tine.’ I looked.

Dex turned his flashlight on me.

‘um, Iz, pretty sure they weren’t standing up.’ he said, and I blushed.”
