Percy is confused. When he awoke from his long sleep, he didn’t know much more than his name. His brain fuzz is lingering, even after the wolf Lupa told him he is a demigod and trained him to fight. Somehow Percy manages to make it to a camp for half-bloods. The only thing he can recall from his past is another name: Annabeth.
Hazel is supposed to be dead. When she lived before, she didn’t do a very good job of it. Sure, she was an obedient daughter, even when her mother was possessed by greed. But that was the problem—when the Voice took over her mother and commanded Hazel to use her “gift” for an evil purpose, Hazel couldn’t say no.
Frank is a klutz. His grandmother says he is descended from heroes and can be anything he wants to be, but he doesn’t see it. His bulky physique makes him feel like an ox, especially in front of Hazel, his closest friend at camp. He trusts her completely—enough to share the secret he holds close to his heart.
This breathtaking second installment in the Heroes of Olympus series introduces new demigods, revives fearsome monsters, and features other remarkable creatures, all destined to play a part in the Prophecy of Seven.
I am always left wanting more when I read or listen to a book by Rick Riordan. I was in love with the Percy Jackson and The Olympians series. Now the Hero’s of Olympus is leaving me wowed.
The thing that stood out to me in this series is that You get to experience more than one characters prospective. I love hearing from Hazel, Frank, and Percy. Just like I loved hearing from Jason, Leo,and Piper in the lost hero. This book just like the first allows you to see how people who are from different worlds can set aside their differences and work together. It is a book with humor, action and adventure. I love that Rick Riordan has taken history or myths what ever you choose to call them and brought them to life with a modern twist. I think that’s why even as an adult I can find the joy of reading this series. Another thing I love is Ghea she is normally seen as such a loving great being and this shows her ugly side. I love that the villain is a woman. I also love how the girls in these books are kick butt chicks. It shows that girls are just as capable as boys. They are able to stand against things that are terrifying. I could ramble on for days about the things I love about this series and this novel.
I had one thing that stood out to me it was a character named Octavian. He just bugged me. He reminds me of the guy everyone hates but no one will say It to him because of who his dad is. Which is literally why he thinks he is so cool. The thing is he gave you the person to hate. I feel as though he is what Luke was to the Percy Jackson series. I cant wait to find out how his character is developed. I have a feeling that he and Drew will be causing trouble together in the books to come.
So in conclusion this book this series wow. If you have yet to check out this series I say as I have time and time again what are you waiting for??
P.s I give this book a 5 /5
P.p.s im so serious you should check it out!
