Description of the Book:
In the magical underworld of Victorian London, Tessa Gray has at last found safety with the Shadowhunters. But that safety proves fleeting when rogue forces in the Clave plot to see her protector, Charlotte, replaced as head of the Institute. If Charlotte loses her position, Tessa will be out on the street—and easy prey for the mysterious Magister, who wants to use Tessa’s powers for his own dark ends.

With the help of the handsome, self-destructive Will and the fiercely devoted Jem, Tessa discovers that the Magister’s war on the Shadowhunters is deeply personal. He blames them for a long-ago tragedy that shattered his life. To unravel the secrets of the past, the trio journeys from mist-shrouded Yorkshire to a manor house that holds untold horrors, from the slums of London to an enchanted ballroom where Tessa discovers that the truth of her parentage is more sinister than she had imagined. When they encounter a clockwork demon bearing a warning for Will, they realize that the Magister himself knows their every move—and that one of their own has betrayed them.

Tessa finds her heart drawn more and more to Jem, though her longing for Will, despite his dark moods, continues to unsettle her. But something is changing in Will—the wall he has built around himself is crumbling. Could finding the Magister free Will from his secrets and give Tessa the answers about who she is and what she was born to do?

As their dangerous search for the Magister and the truth leads the friends into peril, Tessa learns that when love and lies are mixed, they can corrupt even the purest heart.

Overall Thoughts
Wow. Ok so once again Cassandra Clare amazed me. I am left in awe there are no words that could describe how much I adored this book. I Am heart-broken but at the same time extremely happy due to the fact that I love both Jem and Will.
Simply put this story is one that leaves you craving more and more. I was shocked and as Soon as I thought I had it figured out boom I’m hit with things I never expected.
This book begins with Will trying to solve a problem that he can share with anyone. It also show why he is the way he is. Then you have everyone having to deal with if they will be losing their home or not because one of their fellow Shadowhunters has an agenda. Then you are sent on chases and adventures you’d never expect as the plot thickens you are drawn more into it. I don’t want to tell you too much and ruin the book for anyone but wait till you get closer to the end you end up thinking why oh why have you left me hanging. I loved loved loved reading this book. and I am over excited for Clockwork Princess to come out but until then I will settle for The Mortal Instruments Series 🙂

My recommendation for you is to pick up this book if you have read the first one if you haven’t what are you waiting for it is a great series to jump in to.

Quote(s) I Love:
” For Tessa Gray, on the on the occasion of being given a copy of Vathek to read:
Caliph Vathek and his dark horde
Are bound for Hell, you won’t be bored!
Your faith in me will be restored-
Unless this token you find untoward
And my gift you have ignored.
-Will P. 81

” ‘ Well that settles it, ‘ will said. ‘ Pure fantasy. As if Henry is a danger to anyone except himself.’ When she didn’t smile, he added, fiercely, ‘ I would never let anyone touch a hair on your head. You know that, don’t you, Tess?’ ” P.115

” ‘ I had come to think I would never love anyone, but I love her.’ ” P.140 ( ❤ will)

“Will’s face twisted. ‘ Don’t make it sound like that. Like some ordinary grief. Its not like that. They say time heals all wounds, but that presumes the source of the grief is finite. Over. This is a fresh room every day.’ ” P.151

” ‘ I feel myself diminished, parts of me spiraling away into the darkness, that which is good and honest and true – if you hold it away from yourself long enough, do you lose it entirely? If no one cares for you at all, do you even really exist?’ ” P.152

” ‘ Fell’ into it,  ‘ said the warlock, still with the same faint smile. ‘ Hurtled into it  is more like. Headlong – crashed into it. Still there are always some men like that – just one woman for them, and only she will do, or nothing.’ ” P.170-171

“His fingers stroked her wrist lightly, making her shiver. ‘ You are home for me now. ‘ ” P.432

“We are chained to this life by a chain of gold, and we dare not sever it for fear of what lies beyond the drop” p493

 Description of the Book:

For three years, Alexandria has lived among mortals—pretending to be like them and trying to forget the duty she’d been trained to fulfill as a child of a mortal and a demigod. At seventeen, she’s pretty much accepted that she’s a freak by mortal standards… and that she’ll never be prepared for that duty.

According to her mother, that’s a good thing.

But as every descendant of the gods knows, Fate has a way of rearing her ugly head. A horrifying attack forces Alex to flee Miami and try to find her way back to the very place her mother had warned her she should never return—the Covenant. Every step that brings her closer to safety is one more step toward death… because she’s being hunted by the very creatures she’d once trained to kill.

The daimons have found her.

Clockwork Angel: The Infernal Devices, Book 1 (48)

7171637Description of the Book:Magic is dangerous—but love is more dangerous still.

When sixteen-year-old Tessa Gray crosses the ocean to find her brother, her destination is England, the time is the reign of Queen Victoria, and something terrifying is waiting for her in London’s Downworld, where vampires, warlocks and other supernatural folk stalk the gaslit streets. Only the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the world of demons, keep order amidst the chaos.

Kidnapped by the mysterious Dark Sisters, members of a secret organization called The Pandemonium Club, Tessa soon learns that she herself is a Downworlder with a rare ability: the power to transform, at will, into another person. What’s more, the Magister, the shadowy figure who runs the Club, will stop at nothing to claim Tessa’s power for his own.

Friendless and hunted, Tessa takes refuge with the Shadowhunters of the London Institute, who swear to find her brother if she will use her power to help them. She soon finds herself fascinated by—and torn between—two best friends: James, whose fragile beauty hides a deadly secret, and blue-eyed Will, whose caustic wit and volatile moods keep everyone in his life at arm’s length . . . everyone, that is, but Tessa. As their search draws them deep into the heart of an arcane plot that threatens to destroy the Shadowhunters, Tessa realizes that she may need to choose between saving her brother and helping her new friends save the world. . . . and that love may be the most dangerous magic of all.
